Role and Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to develop the youth work with the Bridge Church. Being able to tie that in with the work that takes place within the Bridge Community Centre.
To be able to be a part of building bridges and relationships between the Church and the Community Centre and voluntary leaders.
To help mold the young people together that are based across such a large area and empowering them to be the next leaders.
- Work with other leaders in the town youth club.
- Setting up youth clubs working closely with the existing youth worker and help develop Sunday morning youth within the Bridge Church.
- Schools work – off the back of our work the applicant would become a regular person connected with the school.
- Planning, leading, organising a varied programme for secondary school children on a Sunday morning and in small groups throughout the week.
- Teaching and explaining the Christian faith in innovative ways that helps to engage children with the gospel.
- Providing for the pastoral care and support for our youth.
- Developing a mentoring programme for the youth.
- Organising residential (Spree) and away day occasions for the youth.
- Being a part of the ministry leadership team. This includes line management meetings with Sam Beazley, co-ordinating with the Children and Family Worker.
- Organising, encouraging the volunteer team and recruiting new team members to support the youth ministry.
- Overseeing and developing the youth strategy for the youth work in the Bridge Community Centre
- Summer fun days – Look at working with the Children’s and the Youth team and developing the Summer Fun Days.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
It is essential that the applicant can drive. We would recommend that the applicant has had education to A-level standard. We would also expect the applicant to have been involved in running or helping to run youth work for 3 years +
