Project History
We are an independent evangelical church with a congregation of up to 50 people made up of various denomination types. We meet in a purpose built, modern church building in the village of Severn Beach. The church is affiliated with the Evangelical Alliance, Mullers Partnership and Bristol Celebrate Network Churches.
Structure & Vision
We have no paid minister but are lead by a leadership team and all our ministry and outreach is done by church members and local lay preachers. We have a part-time Children and Family worker who is leaving is in July. Our vision is to see people coming to Jesus Christ as Saviour, to grow in faith and confidence so they can reach out locally and further afield. We want to strengthen and expand our outreach to children and families.
Location
We are based in a village of Severn Beach but are closely associated with our neighboring villages of Pilning and Easter Compton. Together we consist of 2000 homes located North of Bristol, close to the Severn Estuary.
Current Ministry
Our Sunday morning childrens work alternates between Breakfast Club and Sunday Kidspace. We have a termly family outreach club and a weekly Mother and Toddles Group called Pebbles. There is fortnightly Youth Club at Emmaus for years 6-8. On the other week a youth group for ages years 9+ is run at another local church which we help support. We take an assembly at the school each term. We would like to continue the work our Children's and Family Worker has begun with contact with in the Primary school and Preschool, helping in classroom, with school clubs and assemblies.
