Project History & Affiliations:
Truro Baptist Church [TBC] is an established church of 80 members with 1150 people of varying ages and backgrounds meeting for worship on a Sunday morning. We are broadly evangelical in our outlook and theology.
The church has in recent years been through a period of growth which led to a restructuring of the way ministry is organised in the church. At present we are seeking to introduce teams of people to oversee and develop different areas of ministry. Thses will be in place by the end of 2007.
We are part of 'Churches Together in Truro' and relate particularly well to several of the other churches, who we are seeking to work together with. One church is also seeking to appoint a SWYM worker and we envisage working closely with them.

Structure & Vision of the Project:
TBC is a church that seeks to be evangelistic in outlook and practice. We believe that this is the responsibility of allof us and the church seeks to encourage and support pople in the fulfilling of this calling.
The church seeks to be warm and welcoming to all who attend.
At TBC we believe everyone has something to offer and seek to encourage people to get involved by providing opportunities to participate in the ministry of the church and in teh community.
Our worship is vibrant and contemporary, usually led by one of the worship bands.
The church has one full time minister and [hopefully] a student minister from Bristol Baptist College joining the church in September.
There is an elected Leadership Team [diaconate] of 7people who meet with the minister fortnightly to discuss business, vision and to pray.
The main decision making body in the church is the Church Meeting. This is made up of members of the church who meet every other month to discuss the direction of the church.

About the location of the Project:
Truro is the county town and has a Cathedral, large hospital and growing college. The town has a population of 20.000, although many more poeple come into the city during the day to work.
TBC is situated on teh edge of the town centre in a residential community.
People attend TBC from the loac community and across the city. People also attend from nearby villages and towns.
Truro is a mixed community socially. Culturally it is slowly changing with the growth of the hospital and college.

About the youth work of the Project:
The church as groups for children and young people during the Sunday morning service. In addition we run fortnightly social activities for young people. We plan to pilot a weekly youth club in June 2007 with the aim of starting this on a more permenant basis in September 2007.
In April a 'cell group' was started for the older young people wanting to develop their faith.
We ahve also recently statred a children#s club for school yeras 3-6. This will be reviewed before the Summer break.
