Project History & Affiliations:
We are a Baptist Union of Great Britain affiliated Church with many youth/children/family orientated ministries. Including- a large ‘Parents & Tots’ group, a one parent support group, a thriving youth club and expanding Sunday School ministries. We are a growing congregation and the main growth area is families & young people.
Structure & Vision of the Project:
Our church vision is ‘to share the heart of Christ in the heart of Cornwall’ this is reflected in practical connection with our local community where we not only share the good news but demonstrate it with actions.
Our structure reflects the nature of our church, growing! We have a standard Deaconate, however we are developing a leadership team that is larger and more flexible. At present we have a leadership team who oversees the key areas of the church. We have 8 key areas. Youth & Children is one of them.
This core area has a deacon attached but the individual leaders are free to lead their groups.
About the location of the Project:
We are located in the town centre of St.Austell, however we have ministries and connections that reach out far further. We regularly connect with people over a 25 mile+ radius
About the youth work of the Project:
As already stated all of our ministries are thriving and growing rapidly. There are many opportunities to share the good news with people who are far from God. Our main areas for development are to have a regular presence in the local schools, to provide an alternative to the local nightclub which has a strong influence on local young people and to work with whole families to bring about good change in their lives.
