Project History & Affiliations:
Youth work has been some kind of focus for the parish for the last 10 years and the 3 churches in the parish have employed full-time youth workers/evangelists during this period.

We are an Anglican Parish involving three churches, but most of the young people come from just two of the churches. The work has grown gradually over the years, and more and more adults have been drawn into involvement as well.

Structure & Vision of the Project:
As stated under '6' below, we have monthly, weekly and annual events which involve youth from the three churches in the parish, and we have parents of the youth involved in leadership of the different events, together with input from the young people themselves.

Our vision is to see the work consolidated and developed in such a way as to make it more secure for the future. We do not want the strength of the present youth group to be lost in future years because we have not given enough of the relevant leadership input. We would love to see our young people developing their faith, gifts, ministries and leadership in such a way as to guarantee the continuity and growth of the work.

About the location of the Project:
The youth meet in St Bartholomew's church and at St Michael's church in the Bishopston area of Bristol, and also in homes at times.

About the youth work of the Project:
We have a monthly youth service on Sunday evenings, a youth group called Excite, and we also have an annual youth weekend away, an annual Holiday Club for year 6-9 pupils (32 attending this year), we also encourage our youth to go to the Mix at Woodlands once a month.

We have about 70 names of young people on our books and about 30 attend the monthly service.

We have an active involvement of parents of teenagers from the parish who have been running the youth work for the last few years. We have a good number of teens involved and do not want this strength to be lost and so we are looking to have a younger person to come in and inspire and encourage. We have many older people involved but nobody in the 18-35 age range to be a role model and leader for the youth. The youth themselves have requested some younger support/leadership.
