Structure & Vision of the Project:
Mutley Baptist Church is a large church with a staff team of 10 and an eldership of 14. The youth work is run by the Youth Pastor, the associate youth pastor and a team of 30 volunteers.

Our goals as a church are:
- To build a God glorifying, spirit filled, worshipping, joyful, creative, loving, serving and giving community known as Mutley Baptist Church.
- To present everybody in Plymouth with an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus in a way that they can understand and respond to.
- To provide opportunities and encourage members of our community into world mission, (serving at home and overseas) short and long term.

About the location of the Project:
Mutley Baptist Church, a large imposing building on Mutley Plain, a busy street populated by shops and pubs. The church was the first building in the area, completed in 1869.Mutley Baptist Church is situated in the residential neighbourhood of Mutley. It is surrounded by the neighbourhoods of Greenbank, Peverell, Hartley and Mannamead, Mount Gould and the City Centre. The Church is also situated very close to the University of Plymouth.
The contrast between walking out of Mutley Baptist Church and turning left or right is quite staggering. Turn left and you quickly enter the neighbourhoods of Peverell and Mannamead. Large houses in leafy roads, the best schools in the city, two private schools, Plymouths largest park and a croquet club await you. Turn right and you immediately enter the neighbourhoods of Mutley and Greenbank where the story is quite different. Local Authority housing, lots of homes in a state of disrepair, many homes are student bedsits and a park with a bad reputation for anti-social behaviour, a stark contrast to the luxuriant Mannamead.

About the youth work of the Project:
We run open clubs for the community, disciple and mentor Christian young people, engage in community activities and support other local organisations.

We partner with 'Faith and Football' in delivering a community football league and reading project in a local primary school.

We would like to make contact with the local Polish community that has established on our doorstep.
