Project History & Affiliations:
The church’s youth work has been developing over the last 4 years under the guidance of our current worker and a wide team of capable volunteers. We are an independent evangelical church but connect in with other local ministries as well as soul survivor. We want to see our kids grow up to make a difference in the world because of their faith – and to help other young people find out about Jesus
Structure & Vision of the Project:
The youth work is structured from the 7 up kids club (which feeds into the youth club) into Pulse, the 11-14s club, then after that we hope they will be ready for the youth cell. There is also a youth church which runs Sunday morning. Each activity / group has a team of helpers and leaders.
Schools work is on top of this, and depends on opportunities
About the location of the Project:
The church is located in Clifton, a nice part of the city. It is a lively ‘cool’ area with lots of students but not loads of teenagers around. The church is spread over the city so most come to the youth clubs by car. The city is a great place to live and the church is mainly young and friendly and relaxed and supportive.
About the youth work of the Project:
We have seen the youth work grow to this point and feel it is time to move it forward. There is an openness about what this will look like – we are beginning to see interest in social projects and serving ministries in the church, so both reaching out to others and developing our young people would be on the agenda I guess.
