130 people currently attending. It started in Hemyock and moved to Wellington in 1994
initially meeting in a local school. King’s bought the current building in 2001.
Structure & Vision of the Project:
The church is governed by a group of 4 elders all of which came off the foreign mission field
The church has a leadership team of 28 people and is a registered charity overseen by
5 Trustees. The current church Pastors Mark and Julie Morse have been in full time
leadership for 3 years and have a heart to reach out to all aspects of the community. King’s
Church aims to be a relevant, life giving church, bringing God’s Love to a lost and hurting
World. We aim to serve the community in practical ways with a view to bring people in to a
relationship with Jesus Christ. Our worship is lively and or messages relevant and challenging.
About the location of the Project:
We are currently situated on a business park near to a housing estate close to the town
centre of Wellington. Wellington has a population of 14,000 people. There are many young
who hang around with nothing to do. Wellington in close to the M5 motorway and has good
bus links with Taunton and Exeter. We have links with several primary and secondary
Schools in the town and local area. We attract people from as far away as 20 miles as there
are no Churches of our style in the local area.
About the youth work of the Project:
Our youth work has a varied history. Part of our outreach has been to run an indoor skate
Park for the past 4 years with more than 300 members. This is not currently open. Our
Church youth group is around 15 12 – 19 year olds, mainly children of church members.
We have great links with local schools who often invite us to help them especially when we
have mission teams visit. Several schools use our building for Christmas concerts etc.
