"To reach and transform"

The mission statement of SWYM Camps is simple, to reach young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, and to transform those who are follows of Christ into the fullness of Him. In order to fulfil these aims SWYM runs two streams of camps, an evangelistic stream called Activate and a discipleship stream called Radiate.



SWYM Activate Camps

Through the Activate stream of camps SWYM aims to engage young people with the good news of Jesus through an activity style camp. By letting the young people explore their passions by actively doing something, the leaders on the camp are able to share the gospel in a relevant way, in the context of the camp itself.

There are no standard 'meetings' on an Activate camp, just a whole lot of activities, fun and laughs!. There may be a specific message or theme of the camp, but these are shared whilst participating in the activities themselves, whether that be on the end of a piece of rope, passing a football, or playing a guitar solo! In sharing the gospel in the context of activity, the young people are able to see that a relationship with God is for everyday life, and not just Sundays. The aim is to encourage the young people to think about the important questions of life, and make decisions for themselves.

Live Football (Ages: 11+)
This football camp gives you the chance to refine your footie skills, as well as talk, play, think, sleep, and eat football for three days! Learn about the best team to be on, Team Jesus Christ!

Dance Fever (Ages: 11+)
A weekend to perfect those moves on the dance floor! Various styles of dance are covered, with an opportunity to perform in front of your peers. Also explained will be how our whole lives should be lived for the audience of One.

Rock School (Ages: 11+)
Fancy yourselves as a bit of a guitar hero, or maybe you just like to just pound out a solid beat. Well we've got it all at Rock School, from song writing workshops, to performance tips & practice, to even recording your own professional quality single. You'll also learn about the most important use of music, in worship to God.

Surf 'n' Skate Weekender (Ages: 11+)
So you think your radical do you? Well here's your time to prove it. Perfect your skills on the wave or ramp - whatever your style. It'll be great fun, and probably the best weekend of the year. Find out how to make most radical decision of your life and become a follower of Christ.

Challenge of a Lifetime (Ages: 11+)
Kayaking, climbing, absailing, archery, night walks, survival, hiking, caving, gorge walking, mountain biking. Are you up for all of that! Are you ready for the Challenge of a Lifetime? Join SWYM on a week of activity and adventure in May. But make sure you are ready to be challenged not just physically, but spiritually too - what do you believe? An experience that will change your life...




SWYM Radiate Camps

A time of fellowship, teaching, worship, and fun; that is the hallmark of all SWYM Radiate Camps. Jesus called us to disciple the nations, and that is just what we are doing with the young people of the South West in SWYM. By taking young people away for a weekend with God, SWYM are able to encourage them to get to know Him better and put Him first in their lives.

Each year SWYM covers a different set of topics on the Propagate camps, these topics cycle every four years - this means that a solid discipleship programme is delivered to each young person with whom SWYM is in contact. The discipleship camps are split into two age groups 11-14 and 14+.

Live Out Loud (Ages: 11-14)
Want to live life louder with God? Join SWYM for this camp of great fun and activities, with God at the heart. Meet up with other young people from all over the South West, chill out in cafes, enjoy activities together and collectively learn about and worship God.

Deeper Weekend (Ages: 14+)
Are you ready to go deeper? Join SWYM for these great discipleship weekends held in your area. With teaching, worship and a whole lot of fun you'll learn how to go deeper in the most important thing of all - your relationship with God.

Deeper Inside:Out (Ages: 14+)
Enjoy your local Deeper Weekend? Well you'll love Deeper Inside:Out! This camp combines five days of worship, teaching, seminars, fun and mission! Yes that's right, you get to take all you've learned out into the world and tell them about the good news of Jesus Christ. We'll prepare you, so don't worry, you'll be ready - and it'll probably change your life. Deeper Inside:Out is held in a different area each year. Check out the SWYM Camps website for the latest info.
