Each week Trainees receive support in a cluster group which is lead by their Area Co-ordinator. At Cluster all Trainees in an area meet for a time of worship, fellowship and teaching enabling SWYM to provide the week-to-week support that is often required in full-time ministry. Every two months, trainees spend four days at a SWYM Conference where they receive teaching and training, and enjoy a time of fellowship and worship with all members of SWYM. It also provides a much needed time to recharge, share stories, and support each other in a group.
Together these weekly and bi-monthly meetings with others in the same nature of work provides an informal network of regular peer and specialist support for each worker. A lack of this support could leave workers feeling isolated and discouraged, and the opportunity to develop a wider vision and ministry is invaluable.
For existing youth workers in the South West who do not require formal training, but simply want the support that SWYM offers, there is the opportunity to become an Associate. The Associates receive the support that comes from Cluster, and have a unique informal teaching stream whilst at Conference.
